    What is an eSIM?

    eSIM stands for “embedded” SIM which is installed in your phone by scanning a QR code or tapping a notification. If an activation date is required the QR code / Notification is sent after activation, else 24hours after completing your documentation.

    eSIM Advantages

    eSIM Disadvantages

    • Unfamiliar: Since it is a new technology expect to be learning a bit.
    • eSIM Compatible Phones: eSIM will only work in eSIM compatible phones. As a general rule, iPhone 11 and Android model 2021 and higher models are compatible with eSIM.
    • Single Use Only: Most eSIM codes can be used only once. Please do not delete the eSIM created on your phone, since it cannot be recreated on your phone or any other phone. However you can de-activate the eSIM when not needed from your settings.
    • Transfer of eSIM: Transfering an eSIM from one phone to another is usually not possible. However some eSIMs can be transferred from one iPhone to another.

    Activating eSIM on your Device using a QR Code

    Most eSIMs are installed using a QR code. The QR code is sent to you by eMail. You need an Internet connection to install an eSIM

    iPhone XR, XS and newer
    1. Go to Settings, then Cellular.
    2. Select Add a plan, and the Camera app will open.
    3. Point your camera at the QR activation code until you see a message that says Installing cellular plan.
    2021 Android and newer
    1. Go to Settings > Connections > SIM card manager
    2. Tap Add mobile plan
    3. Tap Add using QR code
    4. Scan the QR activation code

    Activating eSIM on your Device using an Operator Notification

    T-mobile, AT&T and some other operators make it even simpler to install eSIMs. They send a notification directly to your phone. Just tap on the notification and follow the instructions as in images below. The notification is sent to the phone you intend to use on your trip for which you have given us the EID and IMEI number by dialing *#06#. Click here to know why IMEI and EID numbers are needed.

      The sim worked well once I reached australia but till i reached it was nightmare dealing with tsim. I had to follow up so many times over chat, call email and send so many screenshot. It was so horrifying to sit in flight be on way to australia and not have sim active and no shared. Disaster experience

      Terrible. I was promised that the SIM would activate within minutes of going through immigration, but that never happened despite waiting for more than 2 hours. The support never picked up the phone and just kept making promises on chat (thank God for Sydney Airport WiFi). After 4-5 hours they said that it won’t be activated. We were traveling with an infant and needed it to co-ordinate with the taxi pick up. Had to borrow kind strangers’ phones to co-ordinate. Stay away from this company

      Took an Optus 30 day card from TSIM and was very happy with the experience. The whole experience was flawless – the guy came home with the car, it got activated on time and worked fine in Australia. The cost was also very reasonable.       After I have purchased the SIM, I contacted them a day prior to my departure to activate my SIM as was told by them that it gets activated 24 hrs prior to landing in Australia.

      They then told me that it will get activated after landing in Australia.

      Although they refunded me, but purpose of buying SIM before hand was defeated.

      False commitments to the customer that the sim will get activated as soon as you reach but that doesn’t happen and you’re left in a lurch.

      THe SIM and network are great. The plan was amazing at this price. However, TSim recommends to set up activation date 1 day before arrival. I am pessimistic and had activation set up 3 days before arrival and was that a wise decision. Required continous emails for those 2 days to get the SIM activated. You can’t relax and expect the SIM to be activated. Do check the SIM before you leave.

      The SIM worked well and the amount of data and calls that are in the bundle are more than enough for a month of travel. No signal issues other than National Parks which Vodafone has no coverage. Overall a good buy.

      The SIM worked great in Australia (Sydney and Port Macquarie in NSW, Gold Coast and Brisbane in Queensland) and had no problems. So technically it would be a 5* rating. But deducting 1* for two reasons: 1. The SIM got activated a little later than requested. However, since I had asked for activation two days in advance, didn’t impact me and I had a working SIM on landing in Sydney. 2. The same SIM was available at a Vodafone store in Sydney at about 50% cost. Of course the advantage of having a working SIM on landing is unbeatable, but still a big difference in the cost. In summary, very happy with the product and would go for it again, but a little cheaper would make me happier.

      Fantastic product. Worked from the moment it was in my Phone in arriving in Australia. It’s a Vodafone SIM and has good coverage. I was mainly in NSW and Queensland. Would recommend the same to travellers. Used WhatsApp mode with TSIM service and found it adequate

      I travelled to 3 cities in Australia spread across 3 different states namely Melbourne in Victoria, Cairns in Queensland and Sydney in NSW. The Vodafone network worked well in Melbourne and Sydney but was a little hit and miss in Cairns especially while travelling to the rain forest or while on the ocean snorkelling. Deducted one star for this reason. Data worked fine otherwise. Should work perfectly if only travelling to Melbourne or Sydney. I had purchased prepaid sim so that I could directly connect and use network as soon as I got to Melbourne. The plan was to use Uber from the airport. Unfortunately the support team didn’t activate my sim until I actually got to Australia and asked for some documents at the last minute while I was at the airport. As a result the network activation was delayed and my plan for booking Uber was affected. Had to thus resort to using public transport. Not the best start to the trip. Having said that, once I escalated my message to the TSIM team, they managed to get the network up and running within a couple of hours. So consider this as a 3.5 star rating. would have preferred a hassle free experience but at least it was sorted relatively smoothly.

      The sim worked perfectly fine in the state of Victoria. Australia has a strong network of Vodafone, so it will work without any problems. When I checked for balance it showed that I have almost around 50 gb of Data left. Although Tsim claimed only 17gb , I got you around 50 gb. Tsim customer care service is a bit late in responding to queries. It could be better.
