Using the SIM Card

Using the SIM Card for the first time
  1. Power off your phone
  2. Insert your new SIM card
  3. Power on your phone
  4. Ensure that roaming is turned on your phone.
  5. Your phone should connect on a GSM/WCDMA/LTE network.

Please also note, using this SIM card to surf Internet or make calls outside covered countries will significantly reduce the data and voice usage capacity, or even cause the SIM card to stop functioning.

Receiving calls

People anywhere in the world can dial your UK or French number directly to reach you, for example, +44774132 12345 or +33674132 12345. The local number is especially useful for booking cabs, hotels and restaurant reservations.

Making local calls

For the purposes of this card, local calls include calls to any country mentioned under “Coverage”, from any country mentioned under “Coverage”. To make such calls use the full international format. E.g. to call a UK landline number from any country use (for example) +44 207 222 1234.

What is an eSIM?

eSIM stands for “embedded” SIM which is installed in your phone by scanning a QR code or tapping a notification. If an activation date is required the QR code / Notification is sent after activation, else 24hours after completing your documentation.

eSIM Advantages

  • Easy to use: Set up your plan by scanning a simple QR code or tapping a notification.
  • Save on Shipping cost: No physical delivery requirement
  • Save on time: In a rush to travel? We will send eSIM QR Code via email. Scan it as per instructions and It will be ready to use upon arrival.
  • Keep your original SIM: The eSIM is in addition to your original SIM which will work as usual if you need it.

eSIM Disadvantages

  • Unfamiliar: Since it is a new technology expect to be learning a bit.
  • eSIM Compatible Phones: eSIM will only work in eSIM compatible phones. As a general rule, iPhone 11 and Android model 2021 and higher models are compatible with eSIM.
  • Single Use Only: Most eSIM codes can be used only once. Please do not delete the eSIM created on your phone, since it cannot be recreated on your phone or any other phone. However you can de-activate the eSIM when not needed from your settings.
  • Transfer of eSIM: To transfer an eSIM from one phone to another you must visit the store of the Operator concerned. However some USA eSIMs can be transferred from one iPhone to another.

Activating eSIM on your Device using a QR Code

Most eSIMs are installed using a QR code. The QR code is sent to you by eMail. You need an Internet connection to install an eSIM

iPhone XR, XS and newer
  1. Go to Settings, then Cellular.
  2. Select Add a plan, and the Camera app will open.
  3. Point your camera at the QR activation code until you see a message that says Installing cellular plan.
2021 Android and newer
  1. Go to Settings > Connections > SIM card manager
  2. Tap Add mobile plan
  3. Tap Add using QR code
  4. Scan the QR activation code

Activating eSIM on your Device using an Operator Notification

T-mobile, AT&T and some other operators make it even simpler to install eSIMs. They send a notification directly to your phone. Just tap on the notification and follow the instructions as in images below. The notification is sent to the phone you intend to use on your trip for which you have given us the EID and IMEI number by dialing *#06#.

    I took 2 TSIM Europe Unlimited SIMS. First did not get activated for 3 days and it was a huge effort to get it resolved. The 2nd SIM did not get activated at all !!!! After several days of follow up, i was informed by TSIM that the SIM cannot be activated due to some technical reason. I was assured a refund and it is 45 days and there is no sign of a refund. For Europe, Orange Offers an ESIM which can be purchased and installed online, without any physical visit or physical document. Pricing is also comparable to TSIM.

    I am a repeat customer of TSIM. The card was not activated on the date specified. Luckily, I could get on the local wifi network and contact TSIM customer care on whats app to get it activated. It took them a short while and we had to delay our departure for such time since I needed google maps to start driving. This is the first time I have had such an issue with TSIM.

    I had used the Lifetime Refundable Europe Card back in 2020 when I travelled to Greece and Istanbul. I was extremely happy with the service back then…
    But this time, first of all, I was not provided with the Lifetime card. Secondly, the card which was given hardly worked anywhere. It gave only 2G/3G at most places. What’s the point of spending so much if I don’t get proper internet speeds?? My father was using the Airtel International Roaming and he had 4G everywhere ..

Do NOT DELETE the eSIM once installed as the eSIM cannot be re installed if QR code already scanned once. You will need to buy a new SIM.

    Yes! You will need to provide your Passport Copy (photo page + address page copy) & Visa copy. The link to upload these documents would have been sent to you after successfully placing the order. The SIM automatically activates when you insert the SIM in any covered country. Your validity period begins when the card is activated.

    Answered by the admin 2 Stage Dialling is applicable to the TSIM EU Economy SIMs for calling to India. It involves using TSIM Calling Service wherein users dial a UK Access Number & when prompted dial their India number in full international format. E.g. 912224216344. Details also sent alongwith the order. All of these plans are good to use in Europe. These plans have have varying amounts of data & talktime. You can select the plan according to your needs.
