Activation and Validity

These are pre-registered cards, just insert into your mobile on reaching Russia and use. Your validity period begins on first use. For Megafon SIM cards, dial *926# immediately after phone connects first in Russia.

Using the SIM Card

Using the SIM Card for the first time

1. Power off your phone
2. Insert your new SIM card
3. Power on your phone
4. Your phone should connect on a GSM/WCDMA/LTE network.

Please note, using this SIM card to surf Internet or make calls outside Russia will significantly reduce the data and voice usage capacity, or even cause the SIM card to be suspended.

Please also note that this SIM card can only be used in a Phone or a Tablet/iPad. It cannot be used in a mifi router or a data dongle. Attempts to do so may cause the SIM card to be blocked by the operator.

Coverage

MTS/MTC: is the largest private mobile telecommunications provider in Russia. It is has 31% of the market and is owned by Russian Systema group. Major cities such as Moscow and St Petersburg are completely covered, and most of Siberia too.

Megafon: (in Russian: МегаФон) has the widest coverage of all operators as of 2018. It has 27% of the market & is owned by Russian oligarch Alisher Usmanov and TeliaSonera. Major cities such as Moscow and St Petersburg are completely covered, and most of Siberia too.

People in Russia or outside can just dial your number directly to reach you, for example, +7 980 555 4200.

Calling a mobile number in Russia

Dial the mobile number directly with the initial +; For example, call number +7 980 555 4200 directly.

Calling a fixed line number in Russia

Dial +7 plus the 10-digit number (mobile or land line).

Calling India

India calling is provided by a 2 stage dialing process. First Dial +7 939 009 1426, wait for the message and then dial the India number in full International format without the leading plus sign (E.g. 912224216344)

Airtime Top Up

There is no included talktime. General MTS airtime can be applied to this SIM card, which means you can either purchase airtime Online or other retail channels.

Extension of validity

These cards can be refilled at the telecom operator’s site for an extension of validity. These refills will generally be more expensive than the rates paid to TSIM. However, we are not in a position to aid you in extending the validity of the card.

APN Setting

For most devices, this SIM card does not require any APN configuration to access Internet. iPhones rarely require any APN setting. However, some Android based devices may require you to manually configure their APN in order to access Internet correctly. If you have an Android OS based device, and your phone can make calls and receive texts, but cannot access Internet, please try to configure the APN based on the following instructions:
